My passion for wine began when instead of drinking Bud Light with my friends at U of I, I was always asking for the house wine (spoiler–it was never great!). A special trip to Napa with the women in my family intensified that interest, and after college I found myself working & learning at one of the largest wine shops in the world, Sam’s Wine & Spirits in Chicago.  With years of my life dedicated to working in wine & acquiring wine certifications, I’m WSET certified level 3 and halfway through my final advanced certification, the WSET Diploma, a series of 5 exams, 4 blind tastings and a written thesis.  

While going through my sommelier training and preparing for all those exams, I discovered the power of blind tasting to challenge all the preconceived notions we have about wine. I’ve built my business on breaking down wine barriers and making it accessible to all.  I can’t wait to share that with you!

When I’m not hosting a wine event, you can probably find me outside! I love walking on the beach at Isles of Palms outside of Charleston, skiing in Telluride in the winter, pouring over old issues of Bon Appetit on my porch planning elaborate meals that I’ll never actually cook or catching the sunset from the dock with my two kids, Christian & Holly.
